The homeowners wanted to take their starter home and make it their forever home. For this multi phase remodel, we started with renovating the upstairs bathrooms and bedrooms to allow the homeowners to move in while the work for 'phase 2' the kitchen expansion started.
The work upstairs was straightforward. All bathroom fixtures stayed in the same place and we installed new tile, vanities, and finishes that suited the homeowner's taste better.
Moving downstairs, we raised the floor joists of an area where there originally was a sunken living room area. The new living room is positioned purposefully next to the wine room and bar to create natural entertainment space. Past the drink, we are greeted by a 10' by 5' center island with all new slim Oak shaker cabinets, top end stainless steel appliances, and a custom tile pattern on the backsplash for character.
The kitchen overlooks the family's TV room that is comfortably lit by 2 new skylights. What once was a dark TV room is now beautifully lit space. Tying all this together are level 4 smooth walls and 8" wide engineered hardwood flooring.
