For this project, we renovated the kitchen, living room, and mud room. Floors throughout were replaced with 3/4 inch hardwood. We removed old lighting and added 14 recessed lights throughout the 3 rooms. But the most significant part of this project was opening up the walk-way between the kitchen and living room. The walkway into the kitchen was previously a standard 30" wide doorway but we were able to open that up into a 12' spacious walkway. Moving to the kitchen, we framed in a new center island complete with a farm-house style bump out sink, electrical outlets, and storage. The pantry was converted to hold the fridge and inset oven and microwave. To make up for the lost storage space, we installed lower and upper cabinets on every wall that could hold them. Another feature worth mentioning is the custom range hood cover we installed.
