This design-build renovation transformed a dated primary bathroom into a bright, spa-like suite defined by light, volume, and upgraded infrastructure. The original space had never included a shower, and the remodel reimagined the room around a new layout that prioritized both function and experience. The bathroom was fully gutted, an oversized soffit was removed toexpose the vaulted ceiling above, and all three windows were replaced to bringin natural light and improve ventilation.
The rebuilt space centers on a dual-person shower finished with floor-to-ceiling tile and enclosed with custom shower glass. A featuretile wall adds visual depth, while a newly framed private water closet houses abidet and introduces a greater sense of privacy. The homeowners selected allfinish materials, allowing the bathroom to reflect their personal aestheticwhile maintaining a cohesive, elevated palette. Plumbing and electrical systemswere reworked to support the new configuration and upgraded fixtures.
Beyond the bathroom itself, the scope expanded to improve the functionality of the primary suite as a whole. A ventless washer and dryerwere integrated into the primary bedroom, eliminating the need to rely on thehall bath and lower-level laundry area. The water heater was replaced andupgraded with a recirculation pump, delivering fast and consistent hot water tothe new bathroom fixtures. As part of the broader work, the home’s mainelectrical panel and subpanel were relocated and updated to meet current codeand fire safety requirements.
The result is a fully usable primary suite that finally functions as intended. What had previously been an underperforming and inconvenient space is now a private retreat that supports daily routines with comfort, efficiency, and intention.
